As designers it’s our basic need to look around & get inspired. It becomes imperative that we look around for what’s new & trending. What are the latest sellers. Etc.
But then often we see that our inspirations over power our imaginations & our work would often be labelled as non-original or copied. It is natural. Anything that you have a look at a lot, tends to hover over your mind & then, you cannot think beyond that blockage.
So, how to cope with that!
The solutions is, you should look at things when they are new. Do not look over the internet or in magazines just before an assignment or doing anything that is related to it. But have a look at things as if reading the news papers. Done regularly. It leaves you with inspiration, you can later use it or get inspired whenever in life, but it won't be as afresh as leaving you with a copied tag.
Look for run-away shows, art galleries, artist’s paintings, but when your mind is free & you want to soak in the beauty of it. Do visit museums, malls, places of interests; look at the walls, the frescos, the technology that goes beyond & it will leave an impression, a remembrance in your mind & later, you have an inspiration at hand.
